Hang onto His promises!
Come what may, hang onto His promises! It's too easy to bail on God - especially when our faith takes a nose dive, when temptations come, when the going gets tough, when it seems God is not doing a thing...
That's when most folks want to check out. To give up on God and His promises. To deem Him as unavailable, doesn't care, isn't listening.
But if you don't give up, if you hang in there, keep your focus on Him instead of the problems, keep believing - He will come through. Maybe not in our time or in our way, but He WILL come through!
You can cast your cares on Him, for He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7) Don't believe the devil's lies. He will tell you that God doesn't care. To take the easy way out. The world's way out. After all, where is God anyway in your time of need?
Just call him a LIAR and keep believing. Keep trusting. Keep waiting. Keep hoping. And don't give up!

April is National Poetry Month!
I love poetry! And to have a whole month dedicated to showing it off is awesome! I do write some poetry (not very good!) so I won't share it. But in honor of National Poetry Month, I'm gonna share some oldies. So here we go!
Song - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Stay, stay at home, my heart, and rest;
Home-keeping hearts are happiest,
For those that wander they know not where
Are full of trouble and full of care;
To stay at home is best.
Weary and homesick and distressed,
they wander east, they wander west,
And are baffled and beaten and blown about
By the winds of the wilderness of doubt;
To stay at home is best.
Then stay at home, my heart, and rest;
The bird is safest in its nest;
O'er all that flutter their wings and fly
A hawk is hovering in the sky;
To stay at home is best.

Bailing on God
A lot of folks end up bailing on God. They start out on fire for Him. Loving Him. Following Him. But then they turn their backs on Him. Why? Because He didn't perform according to their expectations. They have put God in a box and He must perform according to what they think, what they expect. But God is God. He does what He will. He knows best! Yes, trusting Him is a difficult thing. Especially when we don't understand. Suffering and trials are a part of life - both for the believer and the non-believer. In a way it's more difficult for the believer because we expect God to deliver us from the trial. And sometimes He does. But sometimes (often) He just promises to be with us through the trail. And when suffering causes us to 'let go' of God, Satan has won. He gets us to turn our backs on God and go back to the world (the wilderness). God will use the sufferings and trails in life for our good and His glory - IF we continue on in faith. IF we keep believing, keep trusting, keep hoping, keep praying. Not easy. But doable. So please don't bail on God. He really does know what He's doing!

Dangers of Yoga
This will not be a popular post (that is, if anyone even reads it!). I'm gonna talk about yoga. I'll do some quoting from the late Dave Hunt's book: Yoga and the Body of Christ.
It concerns me how many Christian's are getting on board the yoga bandwagon. They don't question it's beginnings (or how it could end!) I wonder if they are even talking to God about it before they sign up for it at their local YWCA or wherever. They just get their yoga mat and head on down to participate. Most think that yoga is just about physical exercises that are meant to be beneficial to our health. (and I'm sure there are some physical benefits, but there's some benefits to walking or running as well).
I quote from Dave Hunt: 'Not many Westerners would become involved in yoga if they knew that it lies at the heart of the religion of Hinduism and its goal is simply to "realize" that one is a god, fulfilling the Serpent's lie to Eve'.
He goes on to say: 'Thinking they are buying health, millions are unwittingly getting entangled in Hinduism. Believing they are being taught scientific practices, yoga enthusiasts, unaware of the deception, are led into dangerous Eastern religious beliefs and rituals that designed to introduce them to the occult'.
Yoga is dangerous and deceitful and I encourage you to do some heavy research on the subject and/or read Dave Hunt's book, which lays out the dangers for those thinking of or are already participating in yoga.

Thoughts on this life
Well, I'm starting yet another blog. Let's hope I stick with this one. I get bored with my posts (and I figured others are too) so I stop writing. I don't really have any thing of importance to say most of the time. Just my thoughts on certain subjects. And one subject that has been heavy on my heart is how important it is for Christian's to live like they really are a Christian - cause nonbelievers are watching us. Sometimes we're the only Bible they will ever 'read.' Yet I see too many who claim to be a Christian living like the rest of the world: drinking, living in anger and unforgiveness, living with someone they are not married to, doing drugs, listening to ungodly music. Will they be judged by God for living this way? I can't really answer that. I'm not God and I'm not trying to pass judgment. I just want to see people be saved. And they won't be if we say one thing and yet live another way. They only see us as hypocrites and not what we claim to be at all.
I know God has been dealing with me about the sins in my life. It's basically a form of unbelief to say we are believers and yet don't believe Him enough to follow what His Word says to do and not do. And I have enough reverential fear of God to listen to what He says and obey Him. God means what He says. Yes, He is a God of mercy and is slow to anger. But I sure don't want to push Him. I want to be the one who has a heart that wants to please Him. And to point others to Him and I can't do that as long as I am living in disobedience to what His Word says.
Another thought on the subject: living in disobedience opens the door to the enemy to pretty much do what he will. Also, living in disobedience will not bring peace in our lives. Or joy. Or victory. So...it's time (past time) to get right with God and do what He says. Even if it's easier to not do what He says. Cause in the long run - it won't be.
